A five mile stretch of coastal inhabitants north of Gold Beach make up the community of Ophir.

Ophir is located between Gold Beach and Port Orford along
US Highway 101, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Ophir and its suburb Nesika Beach, represent some of the prettiest geography to be found anywhere.

The old Ophir school is on the north bank terrace of Euchre Creek, just upstream from the estuary it forms where it meets the sea. It's a beautiful and rugged area, rich in history, people, and nature.
